The Northampton County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Eastern Shore Signs, LLC. was named as the Northampton County Business of the Year at Wednesday night’s Annual Membership Meeting. Over the past seven years, the company’s growth and community involvement has been spectacular. Starting in his kitchen, Andy Buchholz has been able to grow this small business after leaving the hustle and bustle of northern Virginia and moving to Cheriton. After moving into the former Cheriton Shore Bank building, eventually Eastern Shore Signs outgrew that, and recently completed a renovation of an old church which gives the company a 4,300 square foot facility to call home. Eastern Shore Signs has printers for banners, signs, stickers, vinyl decals for vehicles, t-shirts, coping, billboards and so much more. They also have a cutting machine that cuts signs and temples for company’s products.

Northampton Chamber President Nathan Higgins said as he presented Buchholz with the award “Eastern Shore Signs is a perfect example of Chamber members helping Chamber members”. Buchholz and his team also give back to the community they started in, always helping non-profits get the word about their events and serving on several boards.

The Northampton County Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Membership Meeting in the Career and Technical Education building at Northampton High School. Northampton High’s culinary arts class prepared a wonderful feast for the Chamber members and classrooms were open for visitors to view. The Northampton County Chamber of Commerce has been assisting the CTE program and career coach Suzie Henderson with a mentor program. Students that are interested in a certain field are paired with business in that field and shadow the day to day work. Over twenty junior and senior Northampton High School students have been through the program over the past year. If your business is interested in participating in the mentoring program contact the Northampton County Chamber of Commerce.
